Targets - Best Practice

Environmental targets such as improving water quality and biodiversity can take a long time to change; the VI targets recognise this and uses surrogates such as training and crop protection management plans to track progress towards the wider environmental improvements sought by the Voluntary Initiative. For the sake of clarity farmer, adviser and manufacturer targets are simplified and summarised below. The main VI Indicators and Targets paper is the authoritative source of information on all current VI targets.
